Circular Economy: The solution to meet targets
Circular Economy: The solution to meet environmental targets
Ministers from several countries say that no country in the world will be able to meet the goals of reducing emissions, recognized as responsible for global warming, if they do not reduce unnecessary consumption and do not urgently turn to a circular economy, where resources are reused.
In the circular economy, several materials are recycled to reduce waste and, consequently, the pollution that harms the environment and the planet. According to the #Circle Economy company, only 8.6% of the 100 billion tons of materials used annually have a new life; this is a fact that should contribute to the collective awareness of the need to change consumption habits.
The strategic adoption of a circular approach to the economy could generate up to €1.65 trillion of additional opportunities for the global economy by 2050, while also creating jobs and fostering innovation. “A circular economy is not just a possibility – it is a necessity and a great opportunity,” assures Carolina Schmidt – Chile’s Environment Minister.
Frans van Houten, CEO of Philips, adds that companies have a key role to play and should therefore be role models. Philips is in a learning process to introduce circular strategies such as recycling plastic and returning unused large medical equipment.
The re.store has been changing small worlds through circular economy, giving life to materials that would be destroyed in industrial processes, namely in the textile industry. As a brand with purpose, we recognize that the future of the planet requires an urgent change in consumption habits, increasingly eco-responsible and conscious, and this responsibility is incumbent not only on citizens in general, but also on companies as agents of change and behavior influencers.
As a way to drive this necessary change, our brand provides different turnkey projects that allow companies to practice consolidated eco and socially responsible behaviors, capable of contributing to the company’s sustainable identity and encouraging conscientious behavior.
More than a brand, re.store represents a way of being and seeing the world, through an eco-responsible solution that fosters an attitude of valuing resources and people for a collective awareness of the need to change habits, via inclusion.
